ISIS, Movie Executives, the Television Industry, and Social Media
-- Domestic Violence, Battered Women, and Child Abuse --

(U) "The NFL's (National Football League) handling of its latest DOMESTIC VIOLENCE cases reinforces the belief in the United States and overseas that because of self-serving monetary interests, NFL owners and the television industry have for decades failed to effectively address DOMESTIC VIOLENCE issues dealing with battered women and abused children. The negative publicity arising from recent NFL disclosures (along with the movie and television industry's portrayal of pornography under the guise of "adult entertainment" and gratuitous violence under the pretense of "American entertainment") has negatively affected U.S. national security interests.

(U) "ISIS and other Middle East terrorist organizations are copying and successfully displaying on their own sophisticated Internet web sites what they consider to be visual proof of a depraved American society; they are adroitly using American pornography, Domestic Violence and R-rated movies and television programs to recruit thousands of new terrorists that they wish to train to attack and kill Americans at home and overseas. Terrorist organizers are using  "Biblical principles" to influence new followers to join their "Islamic State". Their fanaticism and own violence supersedes logic and in many respects is hypocritical, but their recruitment campaign continues unabated.

(U) "To destroy ISIS and win the War Against Terrorism with popular public support, it is highly recommended that the White House hold a live nationally televised address disclosing to the American people that the U.S. government has PROOF that ISIS and other terrorist organizations are SUCCESSFULLY using the Internet to recruit thousands of new terrorists using videos of what the movie and television industries are showing Americans. The publicity of the NFL's mishandling of DOMESTIC VIOLENCE issues has reinforced the message that terrorist organizations are already conveying to new recruits.

(U) "The American people will have to decide whether having or demanding a "daily visual television diet" of DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, pornography, and an "upside down" value system that is far different compared to what existed in America only a generation ago is worth continuing. The risks of allowing Islamic terrorists to continue using these videos to recruit thousands of new terrorists that will be trained to kill Americans is not an illusion.

(U) "Independent of domestic political considerations, the White House and Congress must communicate to the American people that (1) the movie and television industries are negatively affecting U.S. national security interests and (2) terrorist leaders in the Middle East are exploiting the self-serving interests of powerful communications executives in our country to advance worldwide terrorist objectives. Failure to prevent the growth of anti-American terrorism by withholding from the American people what the Executive Branch knows today will invite more terrorist attacks that can be expected to dwarf the "911" attacks of 2001.  These disclosures about ISIS can be made to the American people without jeopardizing intelligence sources and methods. The U.S. intelligence community position to the White House and Congress is that domestic politics must take a back seat to protecting the national security of the United States and the safety of all Americans."
